ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores modern indigenous identity through wearable art, illustrations, and sculpture. Inspired by my cultural roots (San Carlos Apache and Shoshone-Bannock) and personal identity my work celebrates and reclaims indigenous identity by blending tradition with modern culture.
Working across mixed media and varying scales I am constantly exploring new techniques and processes that expand my practice. I screen print my own designs, sew my own patterns, construct my own sculptures, and create my own illustrations. Maintaining this hands-on approach is essential to my process, the physical act of making allows my identity and intention to remain embedded in every piece.
